Как известно, повысить уверенность (increase confidence ) в английском помогает практика, а практиковать язык нужно регулярно, пользуясь каждым удобным случаем. Таким случаем может стать, например, поход на концерт (going to a concert ), к тому же, это замечательный культурный опыт (cultural experience ) и прекрасная возможность (a great opportunity ) выучить английские слова на каждый день (everyday words ).

Different types of music concerts

Начнем с того, существуют разные типы музыкальных концертов (different types of music concerts ), которые можно посещать (attend ), например, классические (classical ), рок (rock ) и поп (pop ). Классическая музыка (Classical music ) ассоциируется с оркестрами (orchestras ) и ансамблями (ensembles ), которые часто исполняют музыку (play the music ) таких композиторов, как Моцарт или Бетховен.

Рок-музыка (Rock music ) – это музыка, где главным инструментом является гитара (guitar-based music ), а рок-коллективы называются bands .

Поп-музыка (Pop music ) – это сокращенная форма «популярной музыки» (short for ‘popular music’) и ее можно еще назвать «счастливой музыкой» (happy music ), подходящей более молодой публике (younger audience ).

Let’s go to a rock concert

Предположим, что вы идете на рок-концерт (go to a ‘rock concert’ ). Если вы предварительно заказали билеты в интернете (have pre-ordered tickets online ), их можно получить в кассе (collect them from the ‘box office’ ). Касса (box office ) – это место, где покупают билеты (purchase tickets ) или куда предоставляют информацию о заказанных билетах (provide booking information ) и забирают их (pick up the tickets ). Иногда вместо билета вам выдадут так называемый «браслет» (wristband ) из бумаги или пластика (paper or plastic bracelet ), который надевают на запястье, чтобы показать, что вы заплатили за билет.

Когда вы попадаете на место (enter the ‘venue’ ) – то есть здание или площадка, где проводится концерт, — контролер у входа (doorman ) проверит ваш билет. Затем вас пропустят в зал, чтобы вы нашли свои места (find your seats ) или определились, где будете стоять (decide where to stand ).
